I am in a ev Grand Prix project this
semester, and our goal is to build up an electric go-kart for the upcoming tournament
in May. We went an underground lab at Purdue West every Thursday night, or sometimes
we have to find other time to make up progress. It is a lot of time commitment,
but it is fun. Being able to design and build up something you are very
interested in from the ground while learning from that is really worth the
time. There are six people on our team, including me and the instructor. The
pressure might be huge due to the time we have left, but the working atmosphere
is pretty chill and harmonious. I really enjoy the time working with my
teammates. Two of them are from Taiwan too, and the other two are from Indiana.
Last Saturday, we went to Ceraland,
half an hour south of Indianapolis by driving, to test our car. I drove my own
car there, while the other guys hopped on the mini van with our go-karts. It
was approximately a 4 hours drive’s round trip. We left from Purdue at 7:30 in
the morning and arrived at 10:30-ish. Then, we unloaded everything on the truck
and mini van and started working on our cars. About an hour later, we went on
the track and started testing the car. The track was not very big, but it was
long enough for us to test the car’s performance. Also thank God for giving us
a good weather; otherwise, we would not be able to bring our car out and test,
since it is not waterproof. The testing went pretty good. We adjusted the
steering wheel, so that when we turned, it became more accurate and precise. In
addition to be prepared for the tournament, we also recorded the time for each
lap. I ended up at the second place in my team.
After all, it was very fun. I really
appreciate school offering us this opportunity. I really learned a lot and
gained precious experience from this project.
News
Just saw the video of the doctor being
dragged off from the plane and the video of him coming back to the airplane. I
have never thought about things would go this far. Seems like they first
oversold the tickets and then asked some random passengers who had paid the
ticket to deplane. In my opinion, that is ridiculous, and especially when they
did that for their own attendants. I have taken flights every year, and I have
never seen that happened before. How could they just violently and brutally
dragged him off his seat and took him out the airplane? I mean he already paid
the money. It is simple. You pay and you get what you deserve. That is how it
works. I don’t understand how the airline company can’t even follow this easy
rule. It is a nonsense to me, depriving people’s rights and using force to hurt
someone.
